Jude Cowan Montague is an artist, poet and composer.
An award-winning printmaker with a practice of drawing and experimenting with large, colourful prints on the etching press, she also works in large scale metal pieces and 3D structures. Ancient and elemental processes, in which salts change zinc, brass and steel, create scenes and character which perform fragmented, expanding stories.
Her drawings are playful, truthful, mysterious and imply subversions to almost recognisible narratives. Those picture worlds are often inspired by her professional life in broadcast media.
Her most recent project is LOVE ON THE ISLE OF DOGS, a grown-up picture book love story about her marriage to a man who was diagnosed with paranoice schizophrenia.
